Its really fun timing (and actually not that hard to capture) when you get a baby or a kid at that perfect moment. One just has to sort of wait and watch. Not unlike Bird photography, only babies are ridiculously funny where birds are not funny for even a nano-second. (except maybe parrots). And to think this is a bird book! Double the irony. :)

Diamonds I photographed for Sotheby's Auction House
The first picture below, is a 1,109 carat, 3 billion year old diamond! Can you imagine? As I arrived with my gear, there was plenty of security to make sure this lady (that's how they refer to a diamond) was well protected. The diamond was found in Botswana, Africa and the expert traveling with the diamond lived there as well. He filled me in on how full of diamonds that part of the world is.
The second picture is of a ring with a pop culture icon history. The ring belonged to Shirley Temple and was a gift from her father. This was a charming ring with some beautiful color. Yes the diamond had color in it. I did not know this was a real thing as I am only used to the chocolate diamonds from the Zales ads. :)
Sotheby's is an amazing place with very friendly people and high end pieces from throughout the building. I hope they have more jewelry to shoot as this made my list of most unusual things I have photographed, what with the first diamond's sheer size!

Waiting to go outside
I shot this a few days ago when the temperature outside was in the 30s and 40s during the beginning of April. Sometimes he uses his little crib as a "exercise" area. It was so fun to watch, and being a photographer, I had to shoot some stills and video. He is so use to it now, I swear he is smiling as soon as I pick up a camera.
A Girl in the Park on a Beautiful June Evening
A few years ago, I shot this for a play that was in development about a young woman that was into going to a public park at night and seducing men. I believe the play went on and they used another photo from this series. I do like this one however, so super graphic. The two young actors are also busy with other projects. We shot it on this beautifully gorgeous June evening. The park was under the Brooklyn Bridge so there was some foot traffic and a few people watching, but what I remember most was how pleasant the weather was and how clear the night sky was as well. I think I long for that comfortable weather more on a day like today. Hello, where did Spring go? :) Shot with a medium soft strip bank from the right side. 1/2 second exposure to grab some night sky and a bit of that park light feel.
