Moms A Baby Wranger

This little Red Nylon Chair is a big hit with our little guy. So during our monthly update picture, one very busy mom helped wrangle her son into the "just so" position. I loved getting this perfect candid shot before the posed picture .

Warm View But Cold Reality-The New York Skyline in Late October

I shot this two years ago for the Grand Central Hyatt for there Social Media. I can not remember the exact day, but it was freezing up on top of this building. People were packed like sardines next to one another. It was actually quit funny to see people get that close in a town where people usually like to keep a "safe distance". Cold and hunger are great unifiers. Everyone knows both of those discomforts. The sun set at this time of year is spectacular, it falls off quick but very dramatically. I love to see a sky like this above the city. Very warm.

Valentines Day Candy Love Marathon

@NeccoWafers A few years ago, I had a very tiny mini propane torch that was the size of a pen. I wanted to use it for some food photography I had in mind. It was coming up on Valentines Day and of course Classic Neccos were everywhere. I wanted to do a burnt effect on the hearts and if you remember they are very tiny candies. That is where this mini torch came in so handy. I drew some flames over the candies and they responded quite well to heat, I did not need much time on them individually. The smell was wonderful and I remember getting pretty good at achieving this Romantic "bruised ego" feel quite quickly. I periodically sell a large print of these images, especially this time each year. The True Love is my favorite, as I love the green envy feel and the heart burn was beyond my expectations as a candy burner!

Neutral Density Photography Awards

Every year I make it a point to enter a few photography awards contests. Last year I entered the ND Photography Awards, which I have always admired, and with everything else going on in 2015, forgot that I had put in a submission. So you can imagine my surprise and delight to see that I had won an Honorable Mention!

I was particularly honored because my fellow photographers in this category focus on editorial stories with great depth whereas my work is typically more polished and commercial. However earlier in the year I had produced a story that I thought would fit nicely in this category and decided to toss my hat in the ring. Paolo Marchetti (1st place),  Eric Politzer (2nd place) and Tommaso Rada (3rd Place) are excellent photographers and I am humbled to be in their company. Here is a look at my submission, hope you enjoy!

That said here is my Honorable Mention in this category:

Small Walk out into The Blizzard of 2016

We did not go out to much today, and I really did not mind. But i did make a couple of trips out. While I did I had to capture some of the "strangeness" always associated with Blizzard like conditions. I think I've been in 2 or 3 of them in NYC. They are never dull and people are what really make it interesting  to observe. After the snow "cleans" this town up, its fascinating to watch people really enjoy its beauty.  2 shots here, one just a single person walking down the middle of the street, the other, an 8 person snow ball fight that was quite inspired. I hope you all are enjoying this as best you can. I feel like Monday it will be 45 and a mess!
